Summary of Responsibilities:

The Cardinals Care/Community Relations Department of the St. Louis Cardinals is currently looking for a Program Administrator. This position will be primarily responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of Cardinals Care fundraising initiatives, grant distributions, and Redbird Rookies on and off field programs, as well as assisting the department with any other duties as needed.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Regularly support the Redbird Rookies Program by:

  • Designing, producing and distributing of all printed materials
  • Being the administrative liaison for the new online program registration platform
  • Working with Human Resources to confirm background checks for all selected Redbird Rookies volunteers
  • Providing leadership through the planning an implementation of the Redbird Rookies Alumni Clinics
  • Providing support for all on/off-field activities

Oversee all fundraising initiative duties that include:

  • Overseeing all Cardinals Care auctions, including the acquisition, signing, inventory and distribution of all Cardinals memorabilia
  • Acting as the liaison to MLBPAA and Cardinals Authentics
  • Overseeing any additional Cardinals Care fundraisers (i.e. Winter Warm Up, Golf Tournament, 50/50) as needed

Assist the Cardinals Care/Community Relations department with administrative duties including, but not exclusive to:

  • Overseeing the planning and coordination of the Cardinals Care Christmas party (in conjunction with sponsors)
  • Assisting with sponsor, donor, and community partnership fulfillments
  • Aiding in the review, evaluation and recommendation of grants
  • Assisting with any other department duties as needed 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Communication, Business or other related field
  • 1-2 years experience in non-profit and/or community relations or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience developing relationships and working with community partners, vendors and high profile clientele.
  • Experience with organizing volunteers and community events
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, detail oriented, and organized
  • Highly efficient in computer application skills (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • 2+ years experience in non-profit and/or community relations or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience with organizing volunteers and community events in a sports related environment
