Community Relations Program Coordinator

Summary of Responsibilities

The St. Louis Cardinals are seeking candidates for the Community Relations (CR) Program Coordinator position. The purpose of this position is to coordinate the facilitation of all Community Relations programs, initiatives, and events. This Coordinator will also work directly with the Director of Community Relations to complete the required tasks assigned to ensure proper fulfillment of all of these aspects of the department. In addition to the duties stated above, this Coordinator will support the Cardinals Care team on assigned duties for fund-raisers and events.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Kids Club-Handle the day-to-day operations of the Cardinals Kids Club, including customer service responses to questions from members and potential members (e-mail and phone), fulfillment of membership materials, and work with the Family Pavilion staff to ensure quality at the point of sale in-stadium. Work with the CR Supervisor to develop, design, and purchase membership items and materials for each club staying within budget and ensuring timely delivery by requested date. Coordinate the production of materials, including "starter kits", brochures and correspondence to members. Assist Director, Community Relations in executing the yearly Kids Club Party and any other tasks related to these programs as needed
  • Community Correspondence-Work with the Director, Community Relations to ensure timely handling of all correspondence to the department, and ensure proper distribution of "Fan Packs", donations, giveaway items and special recognition letters
  • Community Relations Support-Assist with all Community Relations programs, events and initiatives throughout the season. This includes all MLB-mandated initiatives throughout the season as well
  • Community Ticket Program-Work closely with the Director, Community Relations to ensure proper fulfillment of Community Tickets to local community organizations. Work with website to maintain the online application. Pull in orders from website; work with ticket office to fulfill orders and track ticket availability during this process. Assist with any other tasks associated with this program as needed
  • Cardinals Care-Participate in the Cardinals Care grant review process. Assist with all major fundraising initiatives for Cardinals Care (Winter Warm-Up, Cardinals Care 6K, RBI Golf Tournament, 50/50, etc.)

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, or related field.; or a combination of experience and education
  • 1-2+ years of experience at a non-profit and /or in community relations, or combination of education and years of experience
  • Experience developing relationships and working with community partners, vendors, and high profile clientele
  • Experience with organizing volunteers and community events
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Detail oriented; ability to organize and prioritize schedules
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word

Education and Experience Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience at a non-profit and /or in community relations, or combination of education and years of experience.
  • 1-2+ years of experience developing relationships and working with community partners, vendors, and high profile clientele
  • 1-2+ years or experience with organizing volunteers and community events
  • Familiarity with the grant process
