Community Relations Program Administrator (Full-Time)

Summary of Responsibilities:

The St. Louis Cardinals are seeking candidates for the role of Community Relations Program Administrator. This position is a vital component of the Community Relations department responsible for facilitating community programs, initiatives, and events. The Program Administrator will work directly with the Manager, Community Relations to provide a positive fan experience through the fulfillment of community correspondence, administer special experiences for non-profits and community organizations through Player Ticket Programs, Community Tickets, and MLB initiatives, and build the next generation of Cardinals fans through the sales of Kids Club memberships and scheduling of educational programs. Additionally, this role will support the team's charitable foundation, Cardinals Care, with assigned duties for fundraisers and events.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Cardinals Kids Club – Handle the day-to-day operations of the Cardinals Kids Club, including customer service responses to questions from current/prospective members (e-mail and phone), fulfillment of membership materials, and training of Community Outreach Team staff to ensure quality at the point of sale in-stadium and at outside events. Work with Manager, Community Relations to grow the reach of the Cardinals Kids Club, increase the loyalty of the program through rewards opportunities, and to develop, design and purchase membership items, materials and events for the Kids Club staying within budget and ensuring timely delivery by requested date. Coordinate the production of materials, including "starter kits", brochures and correspondence to members. Assist the Director, Community Relations & Cardinals Care with sponsorship relationships associated with this program
  • Educational Programs – Work with the Manager, Community Relations to schedule Fredbird and presenter visits to area schools (in-person and virtual) - totaling 100+ programs for the school year. Ensure proper communication to the schools and to the presenters. Assist Manager with any other tasks related to these programs as needed. Work with partner Everfi to target schools for Summer Slugger program enrollment and coordinate Everfi educator trainings and events
  • Player Ticket Programs – Schedule dates for each participating player and select and schedule organizations. Execute player program visits, approximately 24/season. Communicate with program sponsor and honor contractual obligations. Instruct Community Outreach Team on needs associated with the Player Ticket Program including but not limited to, researching partner organizations and day-of visit execution
  • Community Ticket Program – Work closely with the Manager, Community Relations to ensure proper fulfillment of Community Tickets to local community organizations. Work with website to maintain the online application. Pull in orders from website; work with ticket office to fulfill orders and track ticket availability during this process. Assist with any other tasks associated with this program as needed
  • Community Correspondence – Ensure timely handling of all correspondence to the department's communication platforms via online (website), e-mail (department inbox), telephone and postal mail for any fan request. Ensure proper execution of Dream Catcher program and distribution of "Fan Packs", donations, giveaway items and special recognition letters
  • Community Relations Support – Support Director, Community Relations & Cardinals Care and Manager, Community Relations with Community Outreach Team assigned responsibilities including but not limited to Kids Club and Player Ticket Program. Assist with all Community Relations programs, events and initiatives throughout the season including Make-A-Wish visits; departmental field visits, ceremonies and first pitches
  • MLB & MLB Supported Initiatives – Work with Manager, Community Relations to execute MLB program initiatives including but not limited to Mother's Day, Father's Day, Jackie Robinson Day, Lou Gehrig Day and Roberto Clemente Day. Work with Manager, Community Relations to help execute MLB supported initiatives including but not limited to UMPS Care visits
  • Sponsorship – Work with Director, Community Relations & Cardinals Care to service sponsor obligations tied to community programming. Work with Director to develop sponsorship opportunities tied to current or new community programming
  • Cardinals Care Support – Participate in the Cardinals Care grant review process. Assist with all major fundraising initiatives for Cardinals Care (Winter Warm-Up, RBI Golf Tournament, 50/50 Raffle, etc.)

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, or related field; or a combination of experience and education
  • Six months to two plus years experience at a non-profit and /or in community relations, or combination of education and years of experience.
  • Experience developing relationships and working with community partners, vendors, and high-profile clientele.
  • Experience with organizing volunteers and community events.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Detail oriented; ability to organize and prioritize schedules
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • 2+ years of experience at a non-profit and /or in community relations, or combination of education and years of experience.
  • Familiarity with the grant process
