Coordinator, International Operations

Scope: This individual will work closely with the Director of International Operations in all aspects of the department with a heavy emphasis on administrative support of scouting, player development, and operations of the Cardinals' Dominican Republic facility. He/she will serve as the day-to-day contact for issues relating to our international players both domestically and abroad, including supervision of our Latin player educational programs. The individual will also support activity in our Jupiter, FL facility and work with the Farm Director as needed. Travel to US affiliates and DR facility is required. The purpose of the position is to enhance our overall international operation through organization and assistance of the group.


  • Receive and organize scouts' expense reports and receipts before approval by Intl. Director. Reports will be maintained for running totals and spending oversight.
  • Handle issues related to international employee payroll/human resources (benefits, salary payments, severance, etc.)
  • Maintain sections of RBD International with player bio, video, medical, and signing information
    • Monitor scout entries for quality control
    • Communicate with baseball development on items that require assistance
  • Create eBis contracts for new player acquisitions and work with scouts on required documentation before submitting paperwork to MLB
  • Oversee English/educational program in US and DR academy which requires communication with teachers, coaches, players, and program service provider
  • Ensure completion and submission of all Latin player payroll documentation including tax forms, medical forms, and application of social security upon US arrival
  • Manage and monitor budget activity for the department
    • Review monthly reports from STL accounting
    • Review and organize all DR academy reports before submission to US
    • Handle all invoice payments and check requests
  • Translate Baseball Operation documents and material
  • Process all player/employee visa applications and be responsible for upkeep of immigration statuses as outlined by MLB and US government
  • Arrange all Latin player travel to/from US as well as those assigned to DSL from other countries
  • Coordinate shipments of baseball equipment to academy and scouts in other countries through different companies. Includes transporting goods by car to MIA shipping companies
  • Main contact for daily issues involving our Latin players (meal money, missing checks, finding housing at affiliates, medical appointments, and directives from management)
  • Produce international projects as called upon by Intl Director
  • Produce signing updates in various formats for STL front office/accounting and scouting staff
  • Work closely with DR Academy administrator and local staff on:
    • Daily operational and budget-related matters
    • Pre-contract physical exams and PED testing
    • Enforcement of player rules and established facility guidelines
  • Assist INTL scouts with travel logistics such as purchasing airfare through Gwins
  • Serve as interpreter for players in Jupiter complex throughout the year.
  • Supervise the Jupiter fellow.
