Then the Corporate Sales Sr. Account Executive position at the St. Louis Cardinals may be the right fit for you! The principle responsibility of this job is selling and fulfilling contracted elements for major clients/accounts of the St. Louis Cardinals and managing categories within the Corporate Sales department to increase sales revenue for the organization. It is also mandatory to prospect potential clients, as well as cultivate and grow current clients to bring new corporate sales dollars in and renew current accounts. This position works with the Account Services group to accurately fulfill elements within Corporate Sponsor contracts, and evaluates sponsorship details to ensure Account Services team accurately fulfills contracted obligations. The execution of current, past and future relationships/contacts to develop major corporate partnerships is integral. As a Corporate Sales Sr. Account Executive, you will serve as a crucial point-of-contact for our clients through building strong, positive, and long-lasting relationships. Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Prospect potential clients annually to create new corporate business, replace contract attrition, and meet sales goals
  • Cultivate relationships with current clients and manage assigned account services team members to successfully fulfill required elements within contracts. Exceed service expectations to increase client renewal rates
  • Grow the current book of business to consistently exceed established customer service expectations, and translate enhanced services into renewal upsells and corporate marketing partnerships
  • Provide day-of-game service to accounts including pre-game field visits, pre-game ceremony execution, and VIP customer events to ensure proper execution of sponsor requests and contracted obligations
  • Create marketing programs and promotions for current and prospective customers. Create and execute partner ticket sales promotions to directly increase ticket sales and attendance

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications or related field; or a combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years of sales experience that includes a history of building relationships with clients
  • Knowledge of the generic sales process, particularly sports sales, client prospecting skills, cold calling, and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the capability to communicate goals and sales strategies to staff
  • Ability to execute event coordination
  • Self-motivated in the prospecting process
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education and experience Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications or related field; or a combination of education and experience
  • 7-15 years of sales experience with a strong history of building relationships with high level clients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with vast experience communicating goals and sales strategies to staff
  • A strong history of executing event coordination
  • Vast experience communicating goals and sales strategies to a sales staff
  • Self-motivated in the prospecting process with deep roots in contacts with advertising partners (both local and national) and agencies
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the sales process with experience servicing high revenue customer accounts within the sports industry
  • High proficiency in the sports client service process and superb communication, prospecting, and cold calling skills
