Data Quality Engineer

Summary of Responsibilities

The St. Louis Cardinals are currently seeking candidates for their Data Quality Engineer position. This position is responsible for ensuring that data management (ETL) processes for the Cardinals' testing and quality standards are met across existing and new data sources within the organization. This position will work closely with other members of the Baseball Development department to understand their data needs, and incorporate them into the data management (ETL) processes. Candidates for this position should be detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to work independently.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience. Candidates expecting to graduate Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 will also be considered
• Experience with end-to-end data testing and/or data analysis as well as knowledge of best practices and methodologies for data QA
• Demonstrated proficiency with SQL for creating/modifying queries
• Experience with JSON, CSV, XML and other data exchange formats
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work well and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment 
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills 
• General interest/knowledge of Major League Baseball

Education and Experience Preferred

• 3+ years of related experience in hospitality (specifically hospitality sales), special events or other service industry, or combination of years of experience and education
• Experience with event management software ReServe
• 1+ years of experience with event/client budget management
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Visio
• Knowledge of stadium security policies and procedures
• Knowledge of basic business law & contract negotiation
