Summary of Responsibilities:
The St. Louis Cardinals are currently seeking candidates for their part-time database Engineer position (IT). The primary responsibilities for this position revolve around monitoring and providing support/maintenance for the company's PlayerCards Database. This includes administering, supporting, and maintaining both software applications and hardware components, as well as ensuring the PlayerCards Database remains in a stable state for all future historical data references.
*** This is a part-time contracted position that is set to last for the remainder of the 2019 calendar year, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or a combination of experience and education
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with computer software, databases, and programming such as Ruby, SQL, etc.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of general IT support experience with computers, software applications, network equipment, etc.
- General IT skills & the ability to diagnose problems/resolve complex issues across tiers (application, device/PC/server and network)
- Knowledge of Microsoft/Adobe products
- Knowledge of how to deal with non-technical customers/end users
- Knowledge of programming tools
- Experience with Windows OS and Linux
Education and Experience Preferred:
- 5+ years of experience with computer software, databases and programming such as Ruby, SQL, etc.
- 5+ years of general IT support experience with computers, software applications, network equipment, etc.
- Specialized IT skills & the ability to diagnose problems/resolve complex issues across tiers (application, device/PC/server and network)
