Summary of Responsibilities:

The St. Louis Cardinals are currently seeking candidates for a Baseball Operations Fellowship based out of their Jupiter, FL training complex. This full-time Fellowship that will conclude with the Cardinals working with the Fellow to jointly determine if there is a potential opportunity for continued full-time employment within the organization at a different capacity. This Fellowship position is designed to provide entry-level baseball ATC, PT, CSCS, and Sport Science practitioners with an opportunity to gain applicable experience at the home of the Cardinals' Spring Training, Extended Spring Training, Gulf Coast, Florida State, and Winter Instructional League.

While working at the direction of the Jupiter-based Directors of the International/Player Development departments, the Fellow will also provide occasional support to the St. Louis based front office. This includes projects as specified by senior leadership of Amateur Scouting, Baseball Development, and the General Manager's office. Responsibilities will be driven mostly by baseball activity taking place at the Jupiter complex and will be closely tied to interaction with Minor League players, many of which are international. Native-level Spanish fluency is ideal with a high degree of proficiency as the minimum requirement. Duties will include, but are not limited to, serving as an interpreter, translating documents, assisting on-field personnel with daily planning, supporting recently drafted players upon signing, and the organization of player immigration documents based on the Fellow's specific role (ATC, CSCS or Sports Science/Research). Training within the current organizational protocols will be provided upon hire.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Support Performance staff with activities at Jupiter complex during Extended Spring Training and GCL season
  • Support St. Louis front office with projects as called upon by Performance Department leadership
  • Assist players with at various events and at housing location
  • Communicate effectively with all staff at Jupiter complex 

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University, or currently enrolled in an undergraduate program
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish at a highly proficient level
  • Strong work ethic and initiative, demonstrated passion for baseball, good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Education & Experience Preferred:

  • Experience around athletes as a past player, coach, manager, SID, etc.
  • Solid background in Functional Movement Systems and Titleist Performance Institute philosophies and methods
