Fellowship, Player Development/ International Operations

Scope/Overall Responsibility: This individual will work closely with the Minor League Administrator and Coordinator of International Operations to provide administrative and logistical support in the player development and international departments. The main elements of the job will focus on assisting the Player Development department with all issues related to the Jupiter complex operations during Spring Training, Extended Spring Training and the Gulf Coast League ("GCL").

 

Main Duties/Tasks

  • Complete, collect, and maintain all foreign player HR documentation related to social security application process, state-issued identifications, US bank accounts, payroll, and visa verification.
  • Coordinate airport runs for all players traveling to and from the Jupiter complex during Spring Training, Extended Spring Training and the GCL season (promotions/releases).
  • Assist with end of year travel for GCL players and all foreign players in the US.
  • Handle all player/staff issues at the team hotel related to reservations, inspections, and room changes during Spring Training, Extended Spring Training, and the GCL.
  • Coordinate the dinner program at team hotel during Spring Training and Extended Spring Training.
  • Occasionally accompany foreign players to medical appointments to serve as translator and complete relevant medical forms.
  • Help with completion of documentation of recently-drafted players after the Rule 4 draft.
  • Work as GCL coordinator during the season (rosters, umpires, scorekeeper, transportation, etc.)
  • Research and development projects on an as needed basis.
  • Provide administrative support to International and Player Development departments on various projects throughout the year.
  • Perform office manager duties to support all personnel working out of the complex.
  • Serve as interpreter during player/coaches meetings
  • Translate documents.
  • Operate Trackman system during Spring Training, Extended Spring Training and GCL.

 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Bilingual (Spanish)

Approximate hours (per week)

  • 40 hours 5 months out of the year (January, September, October, November, December)
  • 60 hours - 2 months out of the year (February, March)
  • 50 hours - 5 months out of the year (April, May, June, July, Aug)
