In-Park Publications Intern

Summary of Responsibilities

St. Louis Cardinals' Publications Department, in conjunction with Maryville University and Delaware North Sportservice, are seeking energetic and engaging student(s) to sell the organization's flagship publication Cardinals Magazine, as well as scorecards and yearbooks, during home games at Busch Stadium. Interns will provide a comprehensive analysis of the department's overall in-park operations, and complete daily reports and season-end analysis on non-gamedays. This is an office job that will include working at a computer or a desk, communicating clearly both in person and on the phone, pushing vendor carts, lifting heavy boxes, and spending a majority of time working and walking outdoors in variable weather on gamedays. This is a college-level internship, and you must be able to receive college credit. 

Essential Functions of the Job

• Work Cardinals home games during the remainder of the 2018 season and provide post-game reports from each game. Will also be charged with selling products at gates, observing vendors and providing feedback and any other tasks as needed.

• Evaluate current selling strategies for Publications  and display the ability to adapt and change strategies based upon circumstances.

• Create and implement selling strategies that lead to increased publication revenue during Cardinals home games.

• Provide a comprehensive season-end report of detailed recommendations to enhance in-park sales to the Cardinals Publications Department and Delaware North Sportservice. 

Education and Experience Required

• Current junior-level student in Maryville University's sports business management program
• Experience in Publications, Sales, or related fields
• Adequate organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, customer service, and money management skills
• Proficiency in Mac and Microsoft platforms (i.e, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc).
