Minor League Baseball Medical and Rehabilitation Coordinator Assistant Jupiter, FL

Summary of Responsibilities:

The St. Louis Cardinals Performance Department is looking for an educated and licensed medical professional to serve as the Assistant Minor League Rehabilitation Coordinator. The candidate will work closely and under the direction of the Minor League Rehabilitation Coordinator including, but not limited to, assisting with the daily care of athletes in rehab at the St. Louis Cardinals' spring training complex in Jupiter, Florida.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Help to maintain a safe and clean work environment for the rehab facility
• Assist with the preparation and application of all therapeutic modalities
• Supervise and instruct athletes on properly assigned therapeutic exercises technique
• Obtain daily athlete history and response to rehab programs
• Document daily treatments as indicated
• Assist with the implementation of injury prevention strategies including supervision of rehab strength and conditioning programs
• Obtain objective measurements including, but not limited to, the range of motion, strength, movement quality, and stability
• Assist with medical appointments scheduled for rehab athletes
• Complete Minor League Medical billing processes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Licensed medical professional currently in good standing with experience in a rehab setting (ATC preferred; PTA, PT, and DC considered) and eligible for licensure in the state of Florida
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Ability to communicate with medical personnel, players, and coaching staff
• Experience working specifically with overhead athletes
• A background in athletics and specifically a strong interest in baseball
• Bilingual (Spanish)
• Additional strengths that are relevant to the position are:
  • Certification in various manual therapy skills
  • Basic baseball skills
  • Experience with Billing
  • Familiarity with FMS, SFMA, DNS and return to sport testing process
