Minor League E-Catching Instructor

Summary of Responsibilities:

The St. Louis Cardinals baseball club is seeking candidates for a Minor League E-Catching Instructor. The position will rely heavily on the use of video, Trackman data, and "remote coaching" to help develop talent. The position will require completion of weekly catching and scouting reports based on game video. There will be moderate travel (approx. 8-10 days per month) throughout the year that will be assigned as needed by the Director of Player Development.

 Essential Functions of the Job:

Performance management:

• Evaluate player performance and provide feedback to coordinators, managers, and front office personnel
• Create a positive atmosphere in player growth to ensure optimization of talent
• Ability to clearly document player performance and identify areas of further development
• Eager to use video and analytical based information and apply it to teaching philosophy

Candidates will need to show evidence of the following:

• Organizational skills

Education and Experience Desired:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field
• 1+ years of prior catching instruction preferred but not required
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, helpful but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Stays abreast and adapts to new trends and ideas
• Detail oriented
• Basic computer knowledge and proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Word
• Ability to use computer/iPad video functions and applications
