Multimedia Communications Intern- Diverse Internship Program

Summary of Responsibilities

The St. Louis Cardinals are currently seeking a Multimedia Communications Intern for the Fall 2019 Diverse Internship Program. This internship will support the multimedia unit of the Communications Department in one or more of these content development categories: video production, graphic design for social media, motion design/animation, writing, and/or digital asset management. Through specialized, targeted projects, the intern will support the St. Louis Cardinals and gain hands-on experience by creating informative and entertaining digital assets that engage with the Club's fan base while supporting the team's online brand.

Depending on the area of focus, interested candidates should submit a portfolio of work* displaying a basic understanding of concepts and college-level coursework in one of the fields of communication and or digital media arts-related fields: video production, graphic design, motion graphics/animation, writing, and/or digital asset management. Candidates should understand baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals' brand as one of the most storied franchises in Major League Baseball.

Essential Functions of the Job

• Support the multimedia unit and gain valuable experience through the execution of targeted content creation projects in the following designated focus area: video production, graphic design for social media, writing, motion design/animation and/or digital asset management.
• Pitch ideas for content development and digital distribution of projects to reach various target audiences.
• Support the Communications Department by ensuring video and other rich media assets are uploaded to the assigned distribution channels, and archived with the appropriate search keywords.
• Assist the Communications Department with any other administrative duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

• Current enrollment in an accredited program at a College or University with a degree emphasis in communications, digital media, journalism, public relations, media arts or related field(s).
• Experience with college media programs and outlets.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite software or Avid Media Composer.

Education and Experience Preferred

• Previous internship or part-time experience in communications or media arts-related field(s)
• Experience managing a YouTube channel and knowledge of YouTube's back-end management systems
• Experience with Avid Media Composer
• Intermediate or advanced Spanish-language proficiency
