Performance Specialist-Minor League

Summary of Responsibilities:

The St. Louis Cardinals baseball club is seeking candidates for a Minor League Performance Specialist position. The Performance Specialist will work closely with the Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning Staff in the minor leagues to coordinate player testing, arm care plans and training programs based upon the ongoing data collected with the players that is based out of the Jupiter complex. The position exists in order to increase the efficiency of the ongoing data collection and reporting processes aimed at connecting all of the Performance Department within Player Development Department.

Essential Functions of the job:

• Ensure daily and monthly testing of minor league players
• Create reports for players and staff to provide feedback on testing protocols
• Integrate data into rehab protocols and S&C programs

 Education and Experience Required: 

• Graduate degree in the area of exercise science and sports medicine
• 3+ years of experience working in  a setting that integrates  sports medicine, strength & conditioning environments

Education and Experience Preferred: 

• Graduate degree in the area of exercise science and sports medicine
• Additional clinical training at a graduate level which could include ATC or PT
• Additional academic training in Biomechanics, Physiology, Exercise Science or related field is preferred
• 5+ years of experience working in a setting that integrates  sports medicine, strength & conditioning environments
• Experience in collection, utilization and integration of biometrics related to work load monitoring, biomechanics, heart rate variability, wellness and exertion among other areas
• Experience in communicating with individuals with a variety of backgrounds  (of specific benefit being sport coaches)
