Pro Scout

Reports to:                          Manager, Pro Scouting

Job Location:                      Phoenix, AZ

Scope/Overall Responsibility: This individual serves as a talent evaluator based in Phoenix, AZ with travel predominately limited within that area. This position is responsible for evaluating talent and writing reports to assist in player acquisition on the professional level. This person will report to the Manager, Pro Scouting and be expected to have a general 'pulse' of their assigned teams, collaborate with the Manager, Pro Scouting to identify efficient and productive scheduling, and submit timely and thorough evaluations on all players on assigned teams whom meet the qualifying standards.

Main Duties/Tasks

• Submit written evaluations of players that you're responsible for, within the specified time frame and whom meet the qualifying standards
• Write clear and concise summaries that are consistent with your grades on the report
• Have a general 'pulse' of assigned teams, including knowledge of schedules and a strong sense for the industry's opinion of players as it relates to them
• Efficiently arrange travel when required
• Attend Pre-Season Meetings (Jupiter, FL)
• Major League Spring Training coverage During the month of March and limited to the Arizona area
• Extended Spring Training coverage During the month April-May and limited to the Arizona area
• Major League In-Season coverage April through September and limited to the Arizona area
• Arizona League coverage June-August and limited to the Arizona area
• Arizona Fall League coverage October-November and limited to the Arizona area
• Manage expenses via Concur
• Manage mileage reimbursement via Motus
• Collaborate with office to identify efficient and productive scheduling
• Have open line of communication with front office & scouts from other regions

Skills Required

• Preferred: Previous scouting/playing experience on the collegiate or professional levels.
