Publications Internship (Part-Time)

Summary of Responsibilities

St. Louis Cardinals Publications Department is seeking an enterprising, energetic and versatile student who will assist the department with critical sales, marketing and customer service tasks and initiatives. Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

• Processing and fulfilling 2021 Yearbook, 2022 Calendar and magazine orders for customers
• Organizing inventory in the administrative office and general storage
• Assisting the department during the 2022 Winter Warm-Up, namely operating the sales booth, tracking sales, engaging customers and managing inventory
• Generating marketing proposals to drive sales of the yearbook, calendar and magazine during spring training and the early portion of the 2022 regular season
• Driving in-park sales of the team's signature products (Cardinals Magazine, Scorecard and Yearbook) by serving as a game day vendor and sales strategist during the April and May home games

Essential Functions of the Job

• Organize, sort and process mail orders
• Assist with the transportation of products throughout the stadium
• Provide ideas for creative marketing messages
• Inventory management
• Sales and marketing
• Customer service
• Evaluate current Publications selling strategies during games and implement selling strategies that can aid in increased game day revenue

Education and Experience Required

• Current enrollment at an accredited college or university with a minimum junior level status, with a major in Sports Business Management, PR, Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field
• Prior retail/customer service experience with superior organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving and money-management skills

Education and Experience Preferred

• Current enrollment in an accredited program at a College or University with a minimum Senior level status
• Excellent customer service skills with retail and/or customer service experience
• Expert knowledge of Mac platforms and Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
