Senior Analyst, Business Strategy & Analytics

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Senior Analyst, Business Strategy & Analytics will clean and prepare data, develop statistical models and work closely with other members of the Business Strategy & Analytics team to help provide insights and create efficiencies within the Club. In addition, The Senior Analyst, Business Strategy & Analytics will be responsible for developing dashboards, reports, and statistical analysis to assist the Cardinals in all aspects of business decision making.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Query, clean, and model data from relational databases, APIs, NoSQL, and other non-standard sources
• Work to develop and maintain advanced statistical models
• Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques
• Create automated and ad-hoc reports to share findings and recommendations
• Convert existing manual reports to interactive dashboards for leadership teams
• Perform statistical tests to verify business hypothesis
• Use innovative and creative approaches to solve business problems and automate tasks
• Keep current with analytics and industry specific trends and advancements

Education and Experience Required:

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering or related field
• Work experience with R or Python
• Proficiency with SQL in a work environment
• Proficiency with data visualization / Business Intelligence software (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience in analytics/data analysis
• Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) processes and data warehouse / data lake design
• Passion for sports and/or baseball

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Expertise with R or Python
• Expertise with SQL
• Demonstrated experience with predictive analytics / machine learning
• Solid communication skills with a demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated project management experience
