Summary of Responsibilities

The St. Louis Cardinals are currently seeking candidates for its part-time Stadium Host position. This position is responsible for hosting pregame activities around the ballpark, assisting with theme night entertainment, and fulfilling sponsorship promotions during home games. Hosting the pregame areas includes facilitating activities for fans of all ages, making announcements pertaining to special events and updates at games, and working closely with the sales staff to promote events in the pregame spaces.

Essential Functions of the Job

• Act as host of courtyard and pregame areas on Cardinals home games
• Develop playlists for areas based on themes, events, and promotional calendars
• Promote stadium special events, concessions, and promotions at each game with area announcements and fan interaction
• Organize games, interviews, and fan interaction for live videoboard content
• Show creativity and initiative in coming up with crowd interaction, engagement, entertainment, and promotions
• Assist with setup, execution, and breakdown of pregame events and promotions, and all other duties as needed

Education and Experience Required:

• 2+ years experience hosting live events
• Background in live entertainment, communications, or broadcast
• Previous customer service experience
• Ability to speak clearly with exceptional annunciation
• Ability to project and communicate clearly to large audiences
• Ability to conduct live interviews
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Must live in the St. Louis Area
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays in accordance with the team schedule
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Ability to lift and/or carry at least 10 lbs consistently
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time

Education and Experience Preferred:

• 5+ years experience hosting live events
• 2+ years experience in sports
• Some DJ experience
• Ability to deal with frequent change
• Comfortable improvising in live broadcast situations
• Able to work special events outside of the regular season home games
• Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
